The Legacy: Memory Support

The Legacy: Memory Support

Evergreen Senior Living provides memory support at three of their communities in Illinois: Decatur, Chillicothe and Orland Park. Known as “The Legacy: Memory Support, these services are directed at seniors who are experiencing the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

The Legacy is located in a secure cottage within our assisted or supportive living communities, and is designed specifically for residents with these challenges. A secured courtyard allows residents to enjoy the outdoors, take a stroll through the garden and relax in the sunshine. Multiple neighborhood gathering spaces give residents the opportunity to sit and visit with friends or loved ones.

Residents at The Legacy live in their own studio apartment, with memory boxes outside their apartment which are filled with photographs and other cherished belongings that are meaningful to each resident. Caregiving staff is trained to understand and provide compassionate, supportive care. Activities are designed to be engaging for our residents with Alzheimer’s disease, and provide a sense of purpose.

Our philosophy at The Legacy: Memory Support is “Life Unrehearsed”. This way of life focuses on personal interaction and life skills. Caregivers allow the resident to determine the course of their day, based on their individual needs and preferences. Memory Support provides medication management, housekeeping and laundry services, and three nutritious meals each day, as well as reminders and assistance getting to and from meals if needed.

The Legacy gives family members peace of mind that their loved one is being cared for with compassion and dignity. You can learn more about our memory support services by visiting our website:, and choose a location in Decatur, Chillicothe or Orland Park, Illinois.
