It is an ever-changing healthcare climate as the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues in our cities, across the country and world. Thank you for your patience, as it is our priority to directly care for your loved ones at Evergreen Place in Normal. We do understand the importance of timely communication and education and intend to give regular updates.
We can share with you that our community has received a positive COVID-19 test result. Privacy laws prevent us from sharing details with you, for example, names of residents or team members. Thank you for your understanding as we preserve our residents’ and team members’ privacy and dignity.
We can also share that we are in constant communication with the McLean County Health Department, following their guidance and ensuring the proper protocols are being followed to minimize the additional risk of exposure to our residents as well as our team members. We are regularly screening temperatures of our residents throughout the day, as well as employees at the start of every shift and mid-shift. Infection control and prevention procedures are common and routine in our community, however, heightened during this time. To attempt to control the spread of the virus, it is our continued recommendation to shelter in place. For our residents, this means staying in their apartment. We ask for your assistance in emphasizing the importance of this measure with your loved one through your calls, visits, and emails. They love hearing from you!
