IDPH recommends all long term care facilities have all staff wear facemasks when they are in the facility. This is called a “universal-masking policy”. We are putting this into effect in all of our facilities/communities as an added measure for infection prevention. We are educating our staff on best practices.
Apartment restriction for residents update – March 30th
As the COVID-19 pandemic progresses throughout our state and country, more residents and employees will inevitably test positive for the virus. We are taking greater measures in an effort to further protect our residents by requiring them to stay in their apartments for the time being. While we were initially allowing residents to roam within our community and follow social distancing protocol, we must go further to prevent the spread of infection by limiting their potential exposure. While we understand the temporary inconvenience this may cause, we feel it is vital to put the well-being of our seniors first. The staff continues to be screened for temperature and symptoms at the start of their shift and are reminded to wash hands regularly. We closely watch for updates from the CDC and the IDPH and will work with our local health department should any activity arise. Thank you for your support and attention to this latest request.
