We work with both agencies to prevent and reduce the risk of the virus in accordance with the CDC guidelines. Upon confirmation of the above positive test results, we follow a specific COVID-19 plan and quarantine and isolate residents who have tested positive to their individual apartments. Hello residents, family, and friends of Evergreen Place Alton,

We would like to share with you our results from this week’s COVID-19 mass testing that was performed on all residents and employees. Unfortunately, this testing resulted in one additional positive case for one of our residents and for one of our employees. Privacy laws prevent us from sharing details with you, for example, names of residents or team members, areas of the building, apartment numbers, etc. Thank you for your understanding as we preserve our residents’ privacy and dignity.

Per the recommendation of the Madison County Health Department, we will conduct additional testing on all residents and employees next Tuesday, November 17, and all employees again on Friday, November 20. We anticipate having results received within 72 hours, however, it could take longer. We will update residents and families when test results are received.

At this time, we continue to follow the direction of the Madison County Health Department. To attempt to control the spread of the virus, it is their continued recommendation for all residents to shelter in place in their apartments.

We will continue to screen temperatures of our residents throughout the day, as well as employees at the start of every shift and mid-shift. Infection control and prevention procedures are common and routine in our community, however, heightened during this time. We ask for your assistance in emphasizing the importance of this measure with your loved one through your calls, virtual visits, and emails. They love hearing from you!

Hello residents, family, and friends of Evergreen Place Alton,

We are again happy to report that all resident and employee COVID-19 tests were negative from last Wednesday’s mass testing. We will be retesting tomorrow, Wednesday, November 11, per the Madison County Health Department direction. We will keep you posted on the results as we receive them. We anticipate having results received within 72 hours; however, it could take longer.

At this time, we continue to follow the direction of the Madison County Health Department. To attempt to control the spread of the virus, it is their continued recommendation to sheltering in place; however, we are able to continue with outdoor visits in our designated areas, and residents are able to visit with each other on our beautiful patio as well as remain active by taking walks throughout our community.

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) guidance following the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS), we must now revert to phase 1, which consists of:

PHASE 1:

  1. Indoor visitation is prohibited, with the exception of compassionate care visitation
  2. Outdoor visitation may occur in an outdoor space designated by the community. Please contact the community for further information
  3. Virtual visitation is available to all residents via several video conferencing platforms
  4. Compassionate care visitation is considered on a case-by-case basis
  5. Beauticians/Barbers are not permitted

We have some great news to share with you today. All COVID- 19 tests that were performed on employees were negative, and therefore we are able to move to Phase 2, which consists of:

  1. Indoor visitation may occur, unsupervised, in common spaces or residents’ apartments, with a six-foot separation and cloth face covering or masking by visitors and residents. Contact the community for further information.
  2. Outdoor visitation may occur in an outdoor space designated by the community. Please contact the community for further information.
  3. Virtual visitation will continue to be available to all residents via videoconferencing platforms.
  4. Compassionate care visitation is considered on a case-by-case basis.
  5. Beauticians/Barbers are permitted at the discretion of the community.

Per the recommendation of the Madison County Health Department, we will conduct additional testing on all residents and employees Thursday, October 8. We anticipate having results received within 72 hours; however, it could take longer. We will update residents and families when test results are received.

We have some great news to share with you today. Our recent positive COVID-19 case in our community in which we were informed of earlier this week, has been determined to be negative or “false positive.” After numerous tests performed on this individual, which resulted in negative tests, their physician has deemed them COVID-19 negative.

We are now able to resume our few hospitality services consisting of small group activities and outdoor visitation. Our residents will again be able to enjoy socializing with their friends in small groups and have the opportunity to visit with their loved ones in safe, coordinated outdoor visits.

We remain vigilant in continuing to regularly assess temperatures and signs and symptoms of our residents throughout the day, as well as employees at the start of every shift and mid-shift. Greetings, residents, families, and friends of Evergreen Place Alton. We wanted to keep all of you informed of the upcoming event that will be happening in our building.

Following the directions of the Madison County Health Department, COVID-19 testing will be completed on all residents and staff on Friday, July 17th. The tests will be administered at Evergreen Place Alton by our licensed nurses. Residents will be educated on the purpose of testing and strongly encouraged to test. We anticipate having results received within 72 hours; however, it could take longer. We will update residents and families when test results are received.

It is an ever-changing healthcare climate as the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues in our cities, across the country, and the world. Thank you for your patience, as it is our priority to directly care for your loved ones at Evergreen Place in Alton. We do understand the importance of timely communication and education and intend to give regular updates.

We can share with you that our community has had a positive COVID-19 test result received. Privacy laws prevent us from sharing details with you, for example, names of residents or team members, areas of the building, apartment numbers, etc. Thank you for your understanding as we preserve our residents’ and team members’ privacy and dignity.

We can also share that we are in constant communication with the Madison County Health Department, following their guidance and ensuring the proper protocols are being followed to minimize the additional risk of exposure to our residents as well as our team members. We are regularly screening temperatures of residents throughout the day and employees at the start of every shift and mid-shift. Infection control and prevention procedures are standard and routine in our community, however, heightened during this time. To attempt to control the spread of the virus, it is our continued recommendation to sheltering in place. For our residents, this means staying in their apartment. We ask for your assistance in emphasizing the importance of this measure with your loved one through your calls, virtual visits, and emails. They love hearing from you!

Last month we communicated a few alternative hospitality services to be introduced, including small group activities and outdoor visitation; however, due to our current circumstances, we have had to suspend those options.
